2023年中国制造业平均利润率大约在5%左右(不同口径、行业差异很大,有的重资产行业更低);
规模以上工业企业的利润总额里,私营企业占比大概两到三成,其余是国企、股份制和外资;
My First Journal/20260910
Life is becoming increasingly aimless lately, with time slipping away like running water. Before I even realized it, I’ve gradually grown numb. I plan to keep a diary on my blog. Although I don’t expect many readers, writing a diary on a public blog means there’s still a chance it will be seen. This will serve as a check on myself so I don’t write completely mindlessly, preventing a repeat of the cringe-worthy Chūnibyō diaries I wrote years ago that I now can’t even bear to read.
1.About My Project
The core structure of my another website is already set up, and I successfully embedded an ad link on the homepage, though it’s not yet fixed in the position I want. Next, I’ll use AI assistance to determine how to design the ad placement. Boosting traffic is another tough problem—I’ll just take it step by step. Site stability is also a key factor; if the service keeps dropping, there’s no point in even thinking about traffic. So I need to be more careful with debugging from now on.
2. Thoughts on Life
I wonder if naming this section “Program” + “Thinking” would get me into trouble, haha. I plan to use this space as a hollow tree hole to vent my thoughts. After all, there are things I wouldn’t dare say on domestic platforms nowadays; sometimes I get a sudden impulse, type out a huge block of text, post it, and guess what? The comment gets shadow-banned.
2.1 Yesterday
I made my girlfriend mad yesterday. She wanted to go out and have a nice meal with me for the Mid-Autumn Festival, but I was completely tactless and said that stuff isn’t clean—that food in China isn’t clean, and only food abroad is clean. Sigh, I think I was just triggered and overgeneralized, plus it’s not like I don’t eat local food at all. Lately, there have been news stories about exploited workers spitting into Yunnan flower cakes, the China GT race actually hiring 60-yuan-a-day elderly men as firefighters, and a certain car battery factory banning employees from using the bathroom to the point where they soiled themselves. A few days before that, it was cabbage soaked in formaldehyde, bayberries soaked in chemicals, and a “revival event” of pickling vegetables by stepping on them with bare feet. Going back another year, there was lead poisoning in Tianshui and cooking oil being transported in mineral oil tankers. I laughed out of sheer absurdity—life sure is getting better and better. Some say it’s just that there are more news distribution channels now, so these things are getting exposed one after another, and in reality, problems aren’t that widespread. Well, that makes sense on paper, but looking at health checkups and food quality inspections, the level of heavy metals in people in our region is on the higher side, and certain foods exceed contaminant limits. This goes straight beyond just individual news exposures.
Thinking further along this line using a mathematical-like induction principle, it’s not hard to see that as the living environment deteriorates, instances of cutting corners, perfunctory work, and missing oversight will only increase. Someone once predicted that this place would eventually devolve into a state of “mutual harm among those at the bottom.” Well, indeed, the mutual harm has already begun—it’s just that people aren’t stabbing each other with knives yet.
As for following this chain of thought to its root cause and deciding who should take the blame, I think that’s an unsolvable question. Some say it’s all the fault of the capitalists and that we should hang them; I just find that view very naive. Launching another anti-rightist Cultural Revolution won’t solve the problem either. Even if you dragged the current group out for struggle sessions and executed them, the new people taking over probably wouldn’t change the operational model. Why? I have a rough conjecture: the production of these companies is actually constrained by the demands of local governments—after all, producing a product counts toward local GDP, so they can’t just cut production at will. On the other hand, the production-and-sales process has to respect market laws; expanded production scale and surplus goods lead to lower profit margins. At this point, to protect profit margins, certain business owners collude with quality and labor oversight departments, and the inspectors simply turn a blind eye. What happens next shouldn’t be hard to grasp, even for the slowest mind in the world. As for those who say, “Why don’t business owners just cash out less and not be so greedy for profit margins, and distribute what they consume back to the workers?” That sounds reasonable, but except for those listed tech companies that can harvest massive amounts of money from retail investors and give a bit more to R&D staff, it’s not very realistic elsewhere. Would the board of directors and shareholders really be that generous?
I put this last topic to Claude, and it told me—

Among mid-sized manufacturing enterprises, how much do owner income, total employee wages, and shareholder dividends each account for? To be honest, there is no publicly available statistical data split by “owner personal income vs. total wages vs. dividends”—especially for non-listed mid-sized enterprises. The accounts themselves are opaque, and the boundary between owner compensation and dividends is often blurred (many bosses pay personal expenses directly from corporate accounts). What can be found in official metrics is roughly as follows:
- In 2023, the average profit margin for Chinese manufacturing was around 5% (though it varies greatly depending on the metric and industry, with heavy-asset industries being lower);
- Among the total profits of industrial enterprises above a designated size, private enterprises account for about 20% to 30%, with the rest belonging to state-owned, joint-stock, and foreign enterprises;
- The proportion of labor costs to operating revenue (“personnel cost ratio”) varies wildly by industry. Labor-intensive manufacturing (apparel, food processing) is typically significantly higher than capital/technology-intensive manufacturing.
The conclusions that can be roughly drawn from these figures are: net profit margins for most small-to-medium manufacturing enterprises are intrinsically thin (single digits). If it were as simple as “the boss takes less and gives it to the workers,” the room that could theoretically be squeezed out is limited—especially for downstream OEM-type enterprises with fierce competition and weak bargaining power. Those with truly large profit margins are often concentrated in a minority of enterprises with strong bargaining power, brand/channel advantages, or upstream raw material sectors. This is why demands like “down with the capitalists” tend to sound overgeneralized: the “distributable surplus” varies wildly across different industries and enterprises, and a one-size-fits-all moral demand cannot solve specific distribution problems.
What is missing is a genuine trade union and an incorrupt regulatory body. Regarding these issues, I actually have an answer in my heart, but I don’t dare say it out loud. There’s also something I want to do, but saying it wouldn’t matter anyway.
Haha. After all, in this “Night City,” it’s better to keep your mouth shut. I also plan to route my blog through a Cloudflare proxy—besides DDoS protection, it will also slow down access speeds from Mainland China, as I don’t really want too many people to see it. Speaking of which, a few days ago, an old friend reached out to me, bringing back memories of a few things ____
2.2 Silence Falls and News Fades Away; Spring Mountains Stand Dark Green as Grass Drifts Like Smoke (from a Traditional Chinese Poem)
A few days ago, an old high school friend from my QQ contacts added me on WeChat. Looking at his Wechat Moments, only a faint smile remained on my lips. We were very close in high school, both being anime enthusiasts. Every day was spent studying, playing football games, and watching anime. After the college entrance exam, we went to different universities. Although the university I went to was relatively politically conservative, I personally harbored doubts about the offcial state narrative at the time. He went to a more open-minded university, but unexpectedly, his mindset was quickly aligned with that official narrative. About ten years ago, on a night during college while we were playing video games online, he explained a lot of the logic behind the official narrative as he understood it to me. To be honest, the reason pyramid schemes easily fool people is that you let down your guard around those close to you. From that day on, I gradually accepted the official narrative logic and ignored several opportunities that could have led me down a different life path: a professor urged me to study abroad, my class monitor asked if I wanted to prep for the TOEFL together, and certain things that should have been done early were left undone, among other things. Later, as life and academic burdens increased, I gradually lost touch with many old friends. At the same time, influenced by my own personality and education, my thinking gradually grew extreme. But things changed in 2022: for reasons everyone knows, I broke away from the official narrative logic, and the drastic shift in my mindset brought about significant changes in my circumstances. I no longer wanted to walk the path approved by the crowd—it made me feel sick. Over the past few years, whenever I occasionally looked back at ten years ago and recalled the day I naively believed the official narrative, I often hated myself. At the same time, I harbored a lingering hope that this old friend might also experience a shift in his own thinking
Things rarely go as wished. Opening his Moments of his Wechat, it was still filled with stories of the official narrative. So my state of mind was simply—letting go, facing it with nothing but a smile. After all, I am fully responsible for the low points in my life. Narrative logic, ideology, and the like—if he hadn’t passed them on to me, someone else would have. So how could I blame others, or even expect him to go through the same things I did and change like me? In the end, I only have myself to blame for being so easily fooled back then. Frankly, if I had done a few things outside of schoolwork to broaden my horizons at the time, things might have been different. However, I never want him to see any text revealing my current thoughts ever again.
There are no “what ifs” in life, yet here I am, having stumbled my way to this day. Facing an environment that is increasingly intolerant, I don’t want many people to read my writing, but I also don’t want to set it directly to “Visible to Me Only”—otherwise, I’d end up writing mindlessly again (LOL).
